Computer Addiction and Hypnosis
When most of the people hear the word “hypnosis”, they will automatically imagine a person waving a pocket clock in order to make another person to act like a chicken, dog or walk like’s zombie or even do action against their will (kill someone, rubbing people).
But the reality is different; hypnosis is a mental state (according to “state theory”) or imaginative role-enactment (according to “non-state theory”), in which the hypnotized person is not in a semi-sleep state but better he is hyper attentive and has absolute free will. This mental state is induced by a procedure known as a hypnotic induction (which is commonly composed of a long series of preliminary instructions and suggestions) or may be self-administered (”self-suggestion” or “autosuggestion”). Braid, the inventor of hypnotism (hypnotism derive from the term “neuro-hypnotism” – nervous sleep), described hypnotism as a state of physical relaxation accompanied and induced by mental concentration (”abstraction”).
In 2005, a new definition of hypnosis, derived from academic psychology (Society for Psychological Hypnosis):
“Hypnosis typically involves an introduction to the procedure during which the subject is told that suggestions for imaginative experiences will be presented. [..]. A hypnotic procedure is used to encourage and evaluate responses to suggestions. When using hypnosis, one person (the subject) is guided by another (the hypnotist) to respond to suggestions for changes in subjective experience, alterations in perception, sensation, emotion, thought or behavior.”
According to Freud, the mind can be divided into two main parts:
* The conscious mind includes everything that we are aware of. This is the aspect of our mental processing that we can think, act and talk about rationally (when you extend your hand in order to retrieve something). A part of this includes our memory, which is not always part of consciousness but can be retrieved easily at any time and brought into our awareness (like a definition). Freud called this ordinary memory the preconscious.
* The unconscious mind is a reservoir of feelings, thoughts, urges, and memories that outside of our conscious awareness. Most of the contents of the unconscious are unacceptable or unpleasant, such as feelings of pain, anxiety, or conflict. According to Freud, the unconscious continues to influence our behavior and experience, even though we are unaware of these underlying influences (just like when you lock a door but later on you are not sure if you locked or not the door, because our unconscious mind told us to get the key and lock the door).
But what happens when we are hypnotized? When we are hypnotized, our conscious mind takes a step back and let our unconscious mind to take over. By that, the hypnotherapist has access and can suggest to our unconscious mind that we don’t like to perform an action, even if when we are awake we love to perform that action (smoke a cigar, drink a cup of coffee, get drugs, etcetera). This procedure is safer more than any other treatment, because if we try to give up to something by taking pills or do other stuff those can lead to harmful effects over our body, but hypnosis only teach our brain to reject them (there is no physical action against our body). And since the changes are made over our unconscious mind, we will remember that we don’t like to perform that action only when we try to perform that action.
Consequently hypnosis is a great therapeutic tool for getting rid of any kind of addiction.
As a fact, we all experienced hypnosis but we never thought of that, when we watch a movie, when we read a book, that is also a kind of hypnosis (self hypnosis).
Because of the fact that the subject is susceptible to suggestion and because the response to suggestion can lead to alteration in perception, emotions and behavior, hypnosis is used as treatment for many phobias, pain sufferance, addiction and many more.
Since AMA (American Medical Association) agreed that hypnosis can be use as an alternate treatment, more and more researches were made. Current research showed that hypnosis is the best treatment for addictions. For example, for a group of smoking addicts, different treatments were applied in order to quit smoking. Here are the results.
With no support only 3% manage to quit without a relapse. Using a substitute for nicotine only 22% did quit smoking. Same percent was able to quit but using medication, or behavioral modifications or single session hypnosis.
Using multiple strategies, 43% quit smoking and didn’t have a relapse. But using multiple sessions of hypnosis 63% quit smoking.
This is only a kind of research conduct. Other research revealed that suggestions given in a hypnotic state, even once, can produce actions in human beings that are the same type of actions that would have resulted from more long-term conditioning and practice (research made by Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, University College London)
When it comes to addiction, every person that has an addiction will act the same way (being drugs, alcohol, sex or game computers). It is proven that hypnosis can alter the way we feel about our addiction. In order to change our lives we have to change our beliefs (which are stored in our unconscious mind), and hypnosis is the best way to change those beliefs.
When we do something we enjoy, our brains start to release chemicals in our body.
That’s why is very easy to become addicted to a substance (caffeine – from coffee, nicotine – from cigarette, pain killers, or worst, drugs), or an activity (work, watching TV, playing computer games). The term video-game addiction encompasses all genres of games, but it is often associated with MMOG’s (Massively Multiplayer Online Games).
According to Dr. Brent Conrad: “Most people can play most games without becoming addicted, just as most adults can drink alcohol on occasion without becoming addicted or gamble from time to time without losing their life savings”. Scientists are discovering with recent research that the genes which people inherit may include “addictive genes”. Those that do get hooked end up with ruined lives.

The Benefits of Hypnosis MP3s
Hypnosis may be one of the most misunderstood forms of treatment available. The first picture most people get in their heads when they hear the word “hypnosis” is that of a creepy man with a goatee beard making his victims think they’re chickens. This certainly is a form of hypnosis and an entertaining one at that, however it has so much more to offer. Used as hypnotherapy it can help almost anyone achieve their goals, from losing weight to improving their confidence.
The internet has revolutionized the way we all live, and it’s also had a deep impact on the world of hypnotherapy. Now many great hypnotherapists are recording digital sessions in the form of mp3s which can then be bought, downloaded and listened to by people around the world. Obviously the benefit to the hypnotherapist is that they can expand their potential customer base worldwide thanks to the internet. But what about the customer?
In actuality the customer receives even more benefits than the hypnotherapist. If you suddenly think to yourself “I’ve been having problems sleeping…I wonder if hypnotherapy can help me?” you can simply log on to the internet, search for the type of session you would like and you will receive the mp3 in your email almost instantly. Talk about convenience!
Then of course there’s the more embarrassing problems. While most of us don’t mind discussing sleeping problems, there’s certain other problems in the bedroom we don’t like to talk about – and definitely not to a stranger. You can avoid a lot of embarrassment now thanks to hypnosis mp3s. Wherever you buy from you’re at most a name and transaction ID. No details are recorded and everything is kept 100% private.
That’s not all though. Hypnotherapists charge upwards of $100 for each session and will normally try and lock you into three visits. So you’re looking at spending $300 at least. How much do you think a hypnosis mp3 costs? A heck of a lot less! You can buy a hypnosis mp3 now for $10 to $20, and once you’ve bought it you can listen to it over and over and over.
It’s important to note that there is one danger in buying a hypnosis mp3. Because the internet lends a cloak on anonymity there have been some unscrupulous types setting up hypnotherapy websites and selling mp3s, despite the fact they have no formal training in the field. That is why you should always look on every hypnosis site for a page about the company and the hypnotherapist(s) they employ. Make it a rule that if the site doesn’t give you the name and training background of the hypnotherapist(s) then they don’t get your money!
Thankfully though these hypnosis websites are few and far between, and as long as you know to check then there’s little harm they can do to you.
If you’ve ever considered trying hypnotherapy for yourself then realize that there’s never been a better time. In the time it’s taken you to read this article you could have searched, paid for and received your hypnosis mp3! So what are you waiting for? Give hypnosis a try today!

Is Hypnosis Here To Stay?
Is hypnosis a fad or has it become the trend? Hypnosis has reached a new level of respect and is now used everywhere in the world. People find it easier and safer than most conventional methods to reach their goals and solve their problems. Simply learning to use your altered state of consciousness can make big changes fast in your life.
Hypnosis used as hypnotherapy is now widely accepted everywhere, which is now commonly used as a therapy to solve people’s problems. People find it easier, safer and less expensive than the past conventional methods of pills, surgeries, diets and long term therapy which is all very expensive. Hypnosis is simply an altered state of consciousness using your mind power to change habits, heal, reach goals and so much more.
Hypnosis, properly used, is accepted by nearly every religion in the world except some Christian Scientists and those individuals that simply don’t understand hypnosis. Those individuals relate to the old late night horror shows of one being hypnotized, looking like a deer staring into the headlights as some kind of mind control. There is no mind control and you are always in control and will never do anything against your beliefs, morals or desires. And when I mean accepted, I mean the Pope himself, released a statement of his approval of the proper use of hypnosis, in the 1950’s and God used it on Adam to remove his rib so he wouldn’t feel any pain, to make woman. Nearly all health organizations use hypnotherapy in their daily practice, including hospitals everywhere, the Mayo Clinic and most doctors, chiropractors, dentists, etc. as well as ministers and law enforcement.
While hypnosis is more popular today than ever before and has reached a whole new respect in just the last decade, is still highly misunderstood by many. Some of you are already thinking that they don’t remember anything being said in the Bible about God hypnotizing Adam. You’re right, it doesn’t use that word hypnosis because the word hypnosis is a Greek word that was coined by a Scottish surgeon, Dr. James Braid, from Manchester, England, in 1841, meaning sleep. However, when he realized it was not sleep at all, he tried to change the word to monoideism and it never caught on. People loved the word hypnosis too much. For those that truly understand and recognize hypnosis, recognizes it throughout the Bible. Hypnosis is mentioned more than a thousand times throughout the Bible according to the organization of ministers that are certified hypnotherapists.
I’ve been a certified hypnotherapist for more than 17 years and worked with people from all walks of life and I still hear the same comments and same questions from everyone. The most common question is, does it really work? It does and still amazes me to this very day. It works even if you don’t believe it will work. For those that don’t believe it will work and don’t really try or is willing to listen to their cd for reinforcement at all, will normally fail at it. These are the most negative people with a negative attitude about everything in their life. Does it really work? Like magic! If I didn’t think so, I would not have walked across a long bed of red hot coals barefooted or the big bed of smashed broken glass barefooted. No, I did not even have a red mark on either foot. I also underwent surgery to repair a hianial hernia(not sure how to spell it but it was a large tear just above the belly button) using only hypnosis, staying awake and talking to staff through the procedure. Yes, it does work and very well. It is easy and so simple. Most think it could not work if it is as easy as I say, but it is. The most common comments I get in nearly every group session to this day is, are we going to bark like a dog or cluck like a chicken? I respond with, do you want to bark like a dog or cluck like a chicken? So far, no one has.
People are hypnotized everyday without realizing it. If you don’t want to be hypnotized and are really too afraid of it for whatever your reason may be, then don’t watch TV, meditate or pray for more than a few seconds, or sit in any meetings, getting too relaxed and listening to what the speaker has to say, like church, or take any time in falling asleep or waking up or relaxing while you drive down that long stretch of highway and don’t believe anything anyone tells you or ever get very relaxed. You need to stay wide awake until you fall asleep fast and as soon as you wake up, jump out of bed and get that physical mind to start thinking about your day. This list should keep you from being hypnotized on a daily basis. I hope you realize that if you should follow this advice to keep from being hypnotized, your quality of life will depreciate drastically. Except for the watching TV, I don’t encourage anyone to watch TV. TV is very negative and the media makes people believe the world is a mess and everything is just terrible and too many people believe it, talk it and live it. If you want to change your life and make improvements, cut out the negativity out of your life, especially the news. Why were there more millionaires made during the Great Depression than any other time? They refused to subject themselves to the negativity around them and focused on opportunities, the positive. Your world, your life you live is but a reflection of your inner world. It all starts within, your mind. You can believe the world is awful and it will be or you can believe it is a wonderful place of opportunity, love and adventure and it will be. Your life is what you make it. It all starts within your own mind. No matter what you think you can or can’t do, if you think you can or if you think you can’t, you’re right!
People are becoming more aware of their own spirituality and the power of their mind within to use it more wisely. With so many books and movies available now, on how much control we have over our own health, lives, finances, destiny, etc., with the proper use of our own mind, we can change anything. We are all constantly living in a state of self-hypnosis. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis, whether guided by another or yourself. The Universal Law of Attraction works with you all the time, without fail. Hypnosis as hypnotherapy is evidently now a trend.

How Hypnotherapy Can Heal You
For many people, the word hypnosis conjures images that have more to do with magic than medicine.
Self Hypnosis and Its Benefits
What is the first thing that comes into your mind when you hear the word “hypnosis”? Most definitely you will be apprehensive. In fact, you will immediately end up not reading the rest of the article. That is why as early as now, you should learn to set aside all the negative preconceived notions you have about it.
True-blue hypnosis is not about brainwashing. It is all about opening yourself to better and more positive emotions, so you can combat the negative feelings that have developed some clout in your mind.
There is a variety of ways on how to do hypnosis. For starters you may want to begin with the self-hypnosis, which carries the following benefits:
1. It is you who alters your mind. One of the concerns about hypnosis is you have someone who has more control over your mind. If you are apprehensive that another person may develop some influence on you, you can do self-hypnosis instead. There will be certain tools you can use during the process, but the bottom line is you are the mere determinant on how long you want to go on with the procedure and what kind of experience you want to go through.
2. There are many tools available. Speaking of tools, you can already pick among the many options today. Usually, you can get self-hypnosis materials in the form of mp3s and CDs. You simply have to listen to the instructions and allow yourself to visualize and just go with the flow of what you are hearing.
There are also others that are in the form of videos. You will hear narratives and images, which are normally soothing and calming.
Of the two, the best option will be the CDs since they give you a chance to really relax by closing your eyes. You can do self-hypnosis by sitting or lying on a smooth flat surface, which is ideal.
3. It invites positive affirmations. Self-hypnosis paves the way for subliminal messages. Subliminal messages can be words, sounds, or images that have meanings picked up by the subconscious. Because they do not go through the conscious, they are more easily received or accepted by the brain.
Subliminal messages, in relation to hypnosis, are commonly positive statements called affirmations. You fill your mind with such encouraging and powerful words, and you will notice how your body starts to react with what you are thinking. After all, these messages will slowly become a part of your belief system.
4. It helps you deal with a lot of problems. If you have heard about how hypnosis helps people suffering from illnesses, from depression to cancer, it is because it does. Again, you can go back to the subliminal messages. For some reason, your entire brain gets rewired. Scientifically speaking, your brain will then send signals to different parts of your body to help you act out your positive thoughts. It is not really unusual for people to develop new vitality or energy after self-hypnosis.
