Recently we have received the same question from a number of different people at HypnoBusters. The question being, “Can you get high on hypnosis?”. I believe this may have something to do with the number of videos on YouTube claiming to produce this sensation. Videos like the one below are becoming increasingly popular.

In reality though what you witness in the video above is not truly hypnosis, merely an optical illusion with binaural beats in the background. While this may make someone feel disorientated for a short period of time it is not “getting high”.

The truth is that hypnosis can’t make someone high. However it can make someone feel and believe that they are high. R.L. Dowell has recently produced a session titled Stoned on Marijuana based on this. More details can be found here – http://www.tunecore.com/music/rldowell

People have also asked if we plan to do a similar session on HypnoBusters in the future. The answer to this is no as we like to focus our efforts more on the healing side of hypnosis than entertainment.
