Celebrities Turning To Hypnosis Companies Like HypnoBusters To Stop Smoking
(PRWEB) May 31, 2010 — It’s often said that when faced with a problem most people will choose the easy way out. Now it seems like celebrities are following this logic by turning to hypnosis companies like HypnoBusters to help them quit smoking.

Celebrities including Drew Barrymore, Ellen DeGeneres, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck have all admitted to using hypnosis to help kick the smoking habit.
Ben Affleck spoke about his experience with hypnosis on the Oprah Winfrey Show.
“I finally decided to quit smoking when I found out I was going to have a child. That was the thing that sort of put it over the top for me. I decided to go to a hypnotist. You sit in a chair and the hypnotist sips water and just talks to you for an hour, and explains how nicotine is poison.”
“All of a sudden, I thought, ‘This is asinine that I’ve been doing this to myself for all these years.’ My last cigarette was on November 10th, 2005, and I feel a huge difference in my health now that I don’t smoke. I feel like I’m in better shape than I was five years ago.”
It isn’t just celebrities who are hopping onto the hypnosis bandwagon either. Due to the number of hypnotherapists offering affordable digital versions of their sessions, people from around the world have experienced similar success with hypnosis.
Leading hypnotherapist Jon Rhodes DHyp expounded on the recent popularity of hypnosis.
“People are always looking for ways to make their life better and with the increased exposure hypnotherapy has been getting it’s only natural that they’d want to see what all the talk is about.”
Jon has good reason to celebrate as his website HypnoBusters was recently voted number one on The Hypnosis Review. In addition to this HypnoBusters have just released their own stop smoking hypnosis MP3 which has become a big success for the site.
“Our Stop Smoking Now session has become one of our most popular products we have. Not only are people buying it but many of them have taken the time to email me and say how helpful it has been for them.”

Creating a Self Hypnosis Trance
I have always found it a little strange that while many people are not willing to try hetero hypnosis (where one person hypnotizes another) while they are, at the same time, eager to learn self hypnosis. I have to suppose that it is an issue concerning trust. Me personally, I regularly use all forms of hypnosis as I know them to be helpful in almost all avenues of life.
I’m sure that you like me, will find self hypnosis easy to learn. It is nothing magical or mysterious but a natural state of awareness that anyone can tap into. In this article I will guide you into creating for yourself a power self hypnosis trance state.
Self hypnosis is a skill that is perhaps most commonly used as an aid to relaxation as it helps to quieten the mind. It can be used for a number of other things. You may have heard about people achieving great success after visiting a hypnotherapist. Even A-List celebrities such as Matt Damon and Samuel L. Jackson are known to have quit smoking after visiting as hypnotherapist. The fantastic news is that self hypnosis can do everything hetero hypnosis can do, and for most they feel much more comfortable and in control.
You will want to learn self hypnosis if you have any personal goals in life that you want to focus your mind on. As mentioned previously you can empower yourself to quit smoking or lose weight, these are common goals that can be achieved through a self hypnosis trance. Yet self hypnosis goes further there are even more incredible things you can achieve. It is entirely possible, for example, to use self hypnosis to increase your chances of a promotion at work, expand your love of learning or even heighten your confidence around other people.
Self hypnosis trance typically consists of three parts – the induction, a deepener and finally hypnotic suggestion. The suggestion can be whatever you desire depending on your personal goals. During self hypnosis you will still be aware of things happening around you and you can choose to stop at anytime, it is impossible to get “stuck” in self hypnosis. If you are a beginner to hypnotic trances then you can follow my short script below to get an idea of how self hypnosis works. Some people like to read scripts out aloud, some prefer to read it in their minds, others enjoy recording it themselves onto their computer and listening back to it when they desire. Whatever works best for you. You are left with no right or wrong choices. It is all about you.
Before you begin please find yourself in a comfortable position with your legs uncrossed to allow for proper circulation.
Self Hypnosis Trance Script
You can begin with your eyes open…Roll your eyes back as far as you can…After a few seconds you will feel your eyes begin to grow heavy…You want to close them as your eyelids become heavier and heavier…Keep your eyes open as long as you possibly can, until they just have to close…
As your eyes close allow your body to completely relax…Feel any tension in your muscles and let them become loose and limp…From the tip of your toes, to the top of your head…You know how beneficial relaxation is and that is why you want to become completely relaxed…Any other thoughts in your mind are becoming quieter and quieter until all you can hear is the sound of your own breathing, deep and slow…Deep and slow. Enjoy this experience until you feel completely relaxed.
Imagine now that you are standing at the top of a grand staircase with ten steps leading down to a large oak door…And you know that behind this door is your own personal dream location…Whatever that may be…Relaxed and calm to begin to walk down the stairs…With each step you take down your relaxation becomes deeper and deeper…When you have reached the bottom of the stairs you are as relaxed as can be…And now you can open the doors to reveal your dream location.
It may be a beach, or a garden or a green valley…Whatever you desire…Visualize this location down to the last detail…Picture the clouds in the sky…Feel the temperature on your skin…Listen to the sounds of nature around…As you enjoy your dream location you see a comfortable chair laid out especially for you…Take this chair and sit down as you look around at this wondrous location…You are so relaxed that your eyes feel heavy…Even here you can fall into a deep, relaxing sleep.
Now you begin to dream…As you dream you see yourself and it is not yourself as you know now…It is your ideal self…The person you truly want to be…As you notice how happy and healthy you appear in this dream your other self begins to tell you about themselves.
[Include hypnotic suggestions here…the following example works well for weight loss]
I enjoy exercising…The food I eat is nutritious and healthy…As I enjoy exercise I visit the gym regularly…I only eat until my appetite is satiated…Because I exercise and eat right I lose weight…All my friends and family have told me how much better I look after I lost weight…Now I am at my ideal weight I still make sure to eat healthier and take regular exercise.
You now sense what you need to do…It is time to say goodbye to your idea self…Because you now know how though, this won’t be goodbye for long…You will soon see this ideal self staring back in the mirror at you…When you awaken from your dream you are back in your perfect relaxation have…You may now spend as much time here as you like before slowly opening your eyes and returning to the real world.
And when you wake up from your self hypnotic trance you will feel calm, peaceful and relaxed…Because you now know exactly how to meet your ideal self again in the near future.
[End]
As you become more experienced at practicing self hypnosis you will find your trances becoming deeper and the effects growing stronger within you.
I hope you have enjoyed your experience of a self hypnosis trance. I am sure I will discuss self hypnosis more in the future including more inductions and deepeners that you can use to hypnotize yourself

Proof That Hypnosis Works
There are a lot of conflicting opinions on the validity of hypnosis as a form of therapy. However scientific studies appear to have fallen firmly in the camp of hypnosis not only being a legitimate form of treatment but also highly effective.
It is only natural that before someone tries an alternative treatment, such as hypnosis, that they would want to be provided with proof that it actually works. There have been a number of scientific studies over the last several decades and they all seem to point to the same answer, hypnosis really does work. In this article I will write about just a few of the studies into hypnosis and how they provide proof that hypnosis works.
Before I begin though I would like to explain how hypnosis works. People who have not been hypnotized often imagine it to be a form of sleep where you can be controlled to do things against your will. This belief is brought about by stage hypnosis where the hypnotist “controls” their volunteer. They keyword in that last sentence was volunteer. A stage hypnotist will ask for volunteers, and just by volunteering they’re already agreeing to do what the hypnotist asks them to do. It’s easy to hypnotize someone into dancing around on stage but if the hypnotist was then to ask them to go and rob a bank for them, do you think the volunteer would? Certainly not because the volunteer is there to have fun, not commit a serious crime.
Also hypnotherapy (the name for hypnosis when used for therapeutic reasons) is quite different from stage hypnosis. Before a therapeutic hypnosis session begins the hypnotist and the client will discuss the goals of the client and agree on the areas the session will focus on.
It is believed that hypnosis works first by opening the subconscious mind to suggestion. From here the hypnotist can implant suggestions to help the client to achieve their goal, whether it be to lose weight, quit smoking or something else entirely.
By now you should have a reasonable understanding of how hypnosis works so know I shall provide proof that hypnosis works.
Hypnosis and Healing
In 2003 the Harvard Medical School experimented with the effects hypnosis has on the speed of healing broken bones. The study took twelve people with broken ankles and used regular treatment on half of them, and hypnosis alongside the regular treatment for the other half.
The results were remarkable as those who had underwent hypnosis had healed as much in six weeks as those who did not had is eight and a half weeks. The proof hypnosis works here is self evident. Just by adding hypnosis into their rehabilitation people with broken bones healed over twenty five percent faster than those who merely used the regular treatment.
This study can be seen to be of particular importance to athletes who wish to speed up the recovery process so they can go back to training and competing.

Hypnosis and Pain Control
Scientists at the University of Iowa Health Science Relations fMRI scans to discover the effects of hypnosis on pain control. The study found that people under hypnosis experienced less pain from a heat than those who weren’t hypnotized. This fact even showed up on brain scans as the volunteers under hypnosis displayed significantly different patterns of brain activity than those who weren’t. This certainly suggest that hypnosis somehow blocks out signals of pain from the brain.

Hypnosis Shows On Brain Scans
In 2009 at Hull University researchers found that hypnosis had a noticeable effect on brain activity when scanned. This shows that hypnosis is not merely a placebo treatment as some skeptics claim it to be.
Dr. Michael Heap, a psychologist involved in the study, concluded that hypnosis primes the mind for suggestion. Not only has this study shown proof that hypnosis works it has also adequately explained how it works.
Once the mind is primed to suggestion a hypnotist can then help their client achieve their goals. I have only touched upon three of the different studies into hypnosis but they have been many more. There is proof that hypnosis works for weight loss, IBS relief, skin problems, increased fertility and much more.
Perhaps the ultimate proof that hypnosis works though is to try it for yourself. Anecdotal evidence also falls on the side of hypnosis working. Even celebrities such as Matt Damon and Ellen DeGeneres have gone on the record as saying hypnosis helped them to quit smoking.
So if you are thinking about using hypnosis, please do so with confidence, as all the evidence dictates that hypnosis really does work.
